4th Annual Indigenous Education Symposium

Ruth Riley is an artist and art educator whose work focuses on storytelling, creative learning practices, and reflective art processes. My teaching centers on using visual expression and journaling as tools for learning, identity exploration, and creative inquiry. As an artist, art educator, and person in long-term recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, I bring a perspective rooted in healing, identity development, and community storytelling. My work centers art as a way to reclaim narrative, cultivate Indigenous joy, and support holistic wellness in learning spaces. My approach emphasizes accessible art practices that help students connect story, observation, and personal experience in meaningful ways.
