About me
Bettina Sandoval was born into the community of Taos Pueblo, she is deeply rooted in her values and connections and is driven to make a positive impact anywhere she goes. Her passion for education started when she earned a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico, and worked at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center leading educational initiatives and programming. After moving back home to Taos Pueblo, in 2018 she became the Education & Training Division Director embarking on a mission to improve education outcomes. Through various partnerships and collaborations, she expanded opportunities for Native youth with the focus of ensuring students could pursue their dreams while staying true to their cultural identity. These experiences shaped her desire to pursue a Masters Degree in Public Policy, with a focus on education policy. She started her first semester at UNM ABQ in Fall 2025 and aspires to be part of the effort to transform education in New Mexico.
